In his concept, "How Do You Like Your Eggs" Basse Stittgen explores the extraordinary materiality of an ordinary item such as waste food, to create a fully degradable tableware accessories, made of bioplastic from broken and b-stock eggs, otherwise destined to be discarded.
Every year an average of 6,4 billion hens lay over 1,1 trillion eggs. Simultaneously one third of the production is lost or wasted through short shelf life or transportation says Stittgen. With his work, he aims to address the shift in value and generate awareness of the scale of waste, and more specifically about our consumption habits.
Each item is handmade and it might have natural irregularities, which makes them unique. We hope you see this as an advantage rather than a vice!
How to recycle: When left to decompose, it degrades fully without leaving traces.
